Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown scored three first half goals on its way to a 5-0 win over Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon. The Bears improved to 11-2-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Mercyhurst dropped to 5-8-1 and 1-8-1 respectively.
Rubi Mink scored what proved to be the game-winner at 13:08 against Mercyhurst netminder
Ellie McDougall. Sam Costello added to the lead five minutes later and Mariah Dimm completed the first half scoring at 26:55. Kutztown outshot Mercyhurst 12-8 in the first half and had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Taylor Higgins scored the Bears' fourth goal at 56:34 and Dimm finished the scoring with her second of the game at 74:38.
Kutztown outshot the Lakers 8 to 5 in the second half and 20-13 overall. The Bears had five corner kicks to Mercyhurst's three.
Alina Rakiewicz played 75:36 between the pipes for Kutztown before being replaced by Jess Campbell. McDougall went all the way for Mercyhurst.
The Lakers will be back in action Tuesday when they entertain Shippensburg at 1p.m.
