Women's Hoops to Host Lock Haven Wednesday (Video)

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team hosts Lock Haven Wednesday, February 1, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game is slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.

The Lakers have lost five in a row, including a 76-67 loss at California (Pa.) January 28. Senior Nikki Frederickson scored a career-high 28 points in the defeat, hitting 12-18 shots from the field and collecting seven steals. Lock Haven comes into Wednesday on a three-game losing streak. Most recently, it dropped a 73-64 decision to Gannon January 28.
 
Hurst is 8-10 overall and 6-8 in the league. The Lady Eagles are 7-10 overall and 6-8 in the PSAC action. The teams are tied for fifth place in the Western Division, three games behind Cal. The top four teams in each division advance to the PSAC Tournament.
 
Frederickson leads the Lakers with 13.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 57.1 percent field goal shooting this season. Her shooting percentage paces the conference. Peaches Nesmith is the Eagles' top player, averaging 15.6 points (fourth in the PSAC), 6.6 boards, shooting 44 percent from the floor (10th), and 80.3 percent from the free throw line (10th).
