ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team takes on Slippery Rock in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest Saturday, January 14, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. The Lakers are 8-1 in their last nine games.

Hurst won, 55-46, at Clarion Wednesday, in the PSAC West opener. Senior
Nikki Frederickson, the two-time defending West athlete of the week, scored 15 points to go with seven rebounds.
Kaylee Foster added 11, including nine in the final seven minutes, as the Lakers finished the game on a 16-6 run.
Rock (4-9, 1-9 PSAC) lost, 59-46, to Lock Haven Wednesday. Erinne Cunningham scored 14 points to lead the Rock. Danielle Smith and Jasmine Cooper form a strong frontline, as Smith is putting up 14 points and 8.4 rebounds, while Cooper is averaging 13.2 points and 8.8 boards per game.
Mercyhurst freshman
Lindsay Stamp leads the team with 12.4 points, while Frederickson is recording 11.7 points and a team-high 6.5 boards per contest. Hurst has held opponents to sub-40 percent shooting from the field in eight of its last nine games.
Coach
Deanna Richard's group begins a daunting stretch next week, as it faces three nationally-ranked opponents. Gannon and Indiana (Pa.) visit the MAC and then the Lakers travel to Edinboro January 25.
