ERIE, Pa. – Mother Nature wouldn't cooperate on Wednesday, as the Lakers played to a 0-0 draw against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference foe, Slippery Rock University. The match was called due to lightning at the 72:26 mark of the contest.
The Rock controlled much of the first half after taking eight corner kicks compared to Mercyhurst's one. Although The Rock's offense applied heavy pressure, the Lakers' defense held its ground keeping the score knotted at 0-0 going into half.
Mercyhurst came out aggressive in the second half and switched roles with The Rock as they applied heavy offensive pressure. With the Lakers attack, came a storm and at the 26:46 mark of the second half, the match was delayed for over an hour due to lighting. After the wait, it was decided to end the match in a 0-0 draw.

Rachel Griepsma made three saves while counterpart Lisa Rodgers made five. Griepsma moves to 4-2-1 on the season moving into a non-conference match versus Malone University on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The Lakers push to 4-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play. The Rock now stands at 3-2-2 overall while moving to 2-1-2 in the conference.
