ERIE, Pa. – Due to inclement weather the Mercyhurst College softball team postpones today's, April 6 twinbill against Gannon University until Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. The non-conference doubleheader against Shippensburg University that was scheduled for April 9 will now be cancelled and will not be made up this season.

Just a reminder that the softball team will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend starting on Friday, April 8 and will continue through Saturday, April 9. All proceeds will benefit the Kimball Family Foundation.

The Kimball Family Foundation is a foundation that promotes genetic breast and ovarian cancer awareness and funds research of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 hereditary breast cancer and ovarian cancer genes. Mercyhurst has special ties to the foundation with Athletic Director, Joe Kimball being the uncle of the five women who developed this rare type of cancer.

T-shirts will be available for purchase during both doubleheaders this weekend.  Like the donations the t-shirt proceeds will support the Kimball Family Foundation.
