ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team hosts Houghton (N.Y.) College Tuesday night at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Lakers face the Highlanders at 7:05 p.m. in a non-conference match.

Hurst is coming off a sweep of Indiana (Pa.) October 1. It hit .208 in the contest to win improve to 10-8 in 2011. Becky Smith had 10 kills and hit .643 in the victory.
 
Houghton is 4-11 on the season. It is 1-2 in the American Mideast Conference. The Highlanders have lost two of their last three matches, including a four-set loss at Daemen on September 20. Mercyhurst also lost in four sets at Daemen earlier this season.
 
Rebecca Dennee leads Houghton with 113 kills. Gretta Freyermuth has 157 kills to lead the Lakers. Smith, Becky Leusch, Sarah Vick, and Amanda Balasko each have between 118 and 145 kills this season. Kiera Rebert has passed out 389 assists and Elyse Texido has recorded a team-high 331 assists.
