LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's soccer team won, 2-0, at Lock Haven Saturday evening.
Sara Hawksworth and
Molly Marsh scored for the Lakers in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory.
The team played an even first half, with Hurst recording seven shots to Haven's five. At the 25:29 mark, Hawksworth scored an unassisted goal off a loose ball, finding the top shelf for the match's first goal.
The visitors held the lead into the second half, where Marsh gave the Lakers an insurance goal at the 71:36 mark. From 24 yards out, Marsh shot over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net for a 2-0 advantage.
Rachel Griepsma made the lead stand up from there, recording seven saves for her seventh win of the season. For the contest, Hurst outshot the Bald Eagles 15-12.
The Lakers improved to 7-8-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the PSAC. They remain alive for a spot in the conference tournament with two games left. Mercyhurst visits East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, October 26, for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
