Boxscore

ERIE, Pa. – At Mercyhurst Field, four different Lakers helped guide Mercyhurst to a 4-0 whitewashing of Ohio Valley in a game that was called in the 71st minute due to lightning.

Maria Antunez, Paige McDowell, Aina Torres, and Sarah Slezak all registered goals for the Lakers, with Renai Medeiros assisting on the third goal of the game by Torres.

Antunez, Torres and McDowell all registered their second goals of the season while rookie Slezak posted the final goal, the first of her collegiate career at 42:39.

Antunez opened the scoring in the second minute of play with a floater into the top of the box.

Scoring in their second consecutive contests, McDowell then gave the Lakers a 2-0 advantage with a long shot into the top right corner of an unprotected net at 8:53, and Torres added another insurance goal at 10:05.

Goalkeeper Rachel Griepsma registered her second complete game shutout of the year as the Lakers have now shut out two of their first three opponents while outscoring them by a 14-1 margin.

Mercyhurst improves to 3-0 on the year while Ohio Valley moves to 0-2. The Lakers are back in action on Sept. 10 at Kutztown.
