ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College women's hockey team will be honored by the Erie Storm Sunday, Apr. 25, prior to their game against the Reading Express at Louis J. Tullio Arena. The Lakers will be one of three women's sports teams recognized at the event, joining Gannon University and Villa Maria High School. A proclamation from the City of Erie will be presented as part of the festivities.
“We are very proud of the athletic talent in our area and want to honor the outstanding women athletes at this Sunday's game to demonstrate our support and commitment with the community,” said Bill Stafford, ownership group spokesperson. “The lessons these young women learn through athletics – discipline, work ethic and teamwork – will serve them well in life. We invite the community to join in the celebration with us and recognize their achievements.”
All students will receive a $3 ticket price for Sunday's 2 p.m. game against Reading. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the ticket window at Tullio Arena.
