Boxscore

URBANA, Ohio -- Shelton Jackson posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Mercyhurst College in a 75-71 win at Urbana University Thursday night.

The Lakers (4-0) also received a team-high 19 points from Luis Leao and 15 points from Heiden Ratner to remain undefeated.  Meanwhile, Urbana falls to 1-7 on the year as the Blue Knights collected a game-high 20 points from Robert Wilson.

Mercyhurst battled back from a 10-point deficit in the first half to enter halftime knotted at 35-35.  In the second stanza, the Lakers and Blue Knights kept the score close until Mercyhurst stretched its advantage to eight with just over four minutes remaining.  From there, Urbana cut the Lakers lead to just two with two minutes remaining but a pair of free throws by Jamal Turner pushed the Lakers back to a four-point lead with 1:25 left.

Urbana would get within two points on two more occasions in the final minute, but Leao connected on a layup and a pair of free throws and Turner added a free throw with 15 seconds left to give the Lakers a five-point lead to seal the deal.

For the game, the Lakers finished shooting over 50 percent from the floor for the second-straight game.  At the charity stripe, Mercyhurst managed just 63 percent but enjoyed nearly double Urbana's total to help stay in the game.

Next up for the Lakers is a contest against PSAC East opponent Mansfield on Dec. 6.  Tipoff at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center is set for 7:30 p.m.
