ERIE, Pa.— The Mercyhurst volleyball team fell to Wheeling Jesuit to a count of 3-1 (25-13,21-25,25-23,25-22). Jenna Pew and Keysha Allison were threats on the net for Wheeling Jesuit leading the team with 13 kills each.
The Cardinals improved their record to 28-4, while the Lakers dropped 16-14 overall.
Highlighting for the Lakers offensively was
Chelsea Jensen, who led the team with 13 kills while
Gretta Freyermuth added 10 kills and
Becky Leusch totaled eight.
Kiera Rebert dished out 32 helpers while
Chelsea Hennigan contributed 11 assists. Lebaro
Kendall Ashworth recorded a team high 19 digs while Rebert, Freyermuth and Jensen posted seven digs each.
Justine Smith,
Becky Smith and Becky Laucsh each posted four blocking assists while J.Smith was the only Laker to record a solo block.
Mercyhurst returns to action Friday, November 5 at Indiana (Pa.). The game-time is set for 7 p.m.
