EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College field hockey team dropped an 8-2 decision to East Stroudsburg Saturday afternoon in East Stroudsburg, Pa. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 2-8 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 11-0 overall.
East Stroudsburg used a five-goal run in the second half to expand a 3-0 lead at halftime and deal the Lakers their eighth loss of the season.
Mercyhurst broke up the run after the Warriors' seventh goal of the game when George made it a 7-1 score on a penalty stroke nearing the 51-minute mark. Violanti closed out the game taking a pass from junior

For the game, East Stroudsburg outshot Mercyhurst 24-4 and held a 13-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Mercyhurst concludes it three-game road trip on Saturday, Oct. 16 with a 1 p.m. contest at Mansfield.
