HOUGHTON, N.Y.-- Houghton College provided a tough match for the Mercyhurst College volleyball team, dropping the Lakers, 3-1 (16-25, 25-14, 21-25, 19-25).

The Lakers now move to 13-5 overall and look to snap a two-match winless streak this weekend when they travel to Gannon University for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover action.  Mercyhurst will take on Millersville and Shippensburg on Friday, followed by Lock Haven and East Stroudsburg on Saturday.

Leading the way for the Lakers tonight were Erin English and Becky Leusch, who each finished with six kills.  Kelsey Richardson also added five kills for the offense.

Elyse Texido provided three aces while Chelsea Hennigan contributed two aces.

Defensively, Kendall Ashworth registered 20 digs.
