Boxscore

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. --  The second-ranked Shippensburg Red Raiders remained undefeated in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action with a 4-0 win over eighth-ranked Mercyhurst on Wednesday.

Ship moves to 14-1 on the year, 6-0 in the Western Division while Mercyhurst falls to 6-4 overall, 3-3 in the PSAC West.

The Red Raiders offense proved to be much too overcome in the loss for the Lakers as Ship outshot Mercyhurst 19-4, including a 13-2 advantage in the first half that helped the No. 2 squad to a 3-0 lead at intermission.

Ship's Laura Wylde got the Red Raiders on the board first just under nine minutes into the game before Kristina Taylor and Katie Pufnock scored exactly five minutes apart near the close of the half.  Pufnock added her second goal of the contest midway through the second stanza.

Ashley Wiskup contributed eight saves for the Lakers while Emily Warren had two shots on goal, with Sara Wowkowych and Serena Slattery providing the other Mercyhurst shots.

Heading into today's contest, the Lakers were tied with IUP for second in the standings.  The Crimson Hawks traveled to Mansfield today.  No results of that game are available at this time.
