Less than a minute later, sophomore

Both teams traded goals to close out the period. Brittany Murphy got the Huskies on the board with an extra-attacker score at 13:52 while Scanzano struck pay dirt on the power-play at 17:25. Chouinard and Bendus picked up helpers on Scanzano's goal to finish the game with three and two points, respectively.
Connecticut cut the deficit back to two to start the third when Michelle Binning tallied her 15th goal of the season at 5:59. However, Scanzano would finish the game off with an empty-net score with under a minute to play.
