Lakers Host Slippery Rock For Homecoming

The Mercyhurst offensive line, anchored by senior Alan Stevens, has been critical to the Lakers' offensive efficiency this year.

KICKOFF: 1:00 p.m.
STADIUM: Tullio Field (2,300)
RADIO: Mercyhurst WMCE 88.5/104.9 FM (wmce.mercyhurst.edu for live stream)

TV: Image Sports Network
B2 NETWORK: www.b2livetv.com
LIVE STATS: http://athletics.mercyhurst.edu/livestats/football/xlive.htm
RANKINGS: Neither team is ranked entering Saturday's contest.
SERIES: This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
COACHES:
Mercyhurst: Marty Schaetzle (Bucknell '83), 23-45 at MC (7th year) and 23-45 overall. Schaetzle is 0-0 vs. Slippery Rock and 0-0 vs. George Mihalik.
Slippery Rock: Dr. George Mihalik (West Virginia '86), 139-80-4 (21st year) and 139-80-4 (21st year) overall. Foster is 0-0 vs. Mercyhurst and 0-0 vs. Marty Schaetzle.

Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock will battle Saturday for the first time in the history of the two programs. This should be the largest crowd on hand for a Mercyhurst home game this year as it is homecoming and these two teams seem to be evenly matched. Slippery Rock was picked to finish fourth in the PSAC West by the coaches in the preseason poll and Mercyhurst was selected fifth. Both teams won their PSAC West opener a week ago and Saturday's victor will move into a two-way tie at the top of the conference standings as the two other unbeatens, Cal and IUP, will also play each other Saturday.

The game will be televised locally on the Image Sports Network and the radio broadcast can be heard via Mercyhurst's campus radio station, WMCE 88.5/104.9 FM. As well, Slippery Rock will have a radio broadcast via the MSA Sports Network.
