Ann Arbor, Mich. - Mercyhurst women's water polo seniors Christine Somera and Carrie Willison each scored three goals but Bucknell proved too much, topping the Lakers 14-8 in the consolation round of the Eastern Championship Saturday afternoon.

Bucknell, the tournament's fifth seed, scored four goals in each of the first two quarters to take an 8-4 lead into the half. The Lakers attempted a late comeback, scoring three in the fourth, but Bucknell managed to hang on and send the Lakers to the seventh-place game.

Along with three goals apiece, Somera and Willison each totaled two assists. Freshman Rachel Griepsma and senior Rhonda Marable also scored goals for the Lakers.

Mercyhurst, now 14-8 on the season, takes on Indiana for seventh place Sunday at 9 a.m.
