The victory was the team's fifth in a row and helped the squad hold onto solid footing in third place in the PSAC West.

Katie Fritz and
Jenna Matson each had 11 kills, while
Kendall Ashworth added 34 digs.

Justine Smith were tremendous at the net, picking up eight and six blocks, respectively.
The win gives the Lakers a sweep of the season-series with Slippery Rock after Mercyhurst defeated the Rock in four games to open conference play Sept. 3.
Slippery Rock falls to 15-7 overall and 3-4 in PSAC West play. The Lakers improve to 14-8 overall and 5-2 in the PSAC West. The Lakers will play at Daemen Thursday at 7 p.m. in the final match of a nine-game stretch of games away from the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The team has gone 6-2 through the first eight contests in that string.
