Mercyhurst leads NCAA Division II in three categories heading into this contest -- passing defense, opponents first downs, and time of possession. Lock Haven, on the other hand, ranks last out of 148 Division II schools in passing offense, total offense, scoring offense, and passing efficiency. Although the game appears to be a mismatch on paper, the Bald Eagles have been playing better lately and will try to hand the Lakers their first PSAC West Division loss.

The game will be televised locally on the Image Sports Network and the radio broadcast can be heard via Mercyhurst's campus radio station, WMCE 88.5/104.9 FM. As well, Lock Haven will have a radio broadcast of the contest.

Mercyhurst and Lock Haven meet for the first time in the history of the two programs Saturday as the Lakers look for their third consecutive victory. Lock Haven is still searching for its first win of the 2008 season after winning just once a year ago. Mercyhurst was picked to finish fifth in the PSAC West Division but defeated Slippery Rock, the team picked fourth, a week ago 34-10. Lock Haven was selected last in the coaches preseason poll.
