All of the Lakers' goals came on special teams with three power-play tallies from Jackie Jarrell, Meghan Agosta and Cassea Schols. It was Schols' first collegiate marker. Agosta also scored a short-handed goal.
Mercyhurst scored twice in the opening period to set the tempo. The Terriers cut the deficit to one with a second-period goal, but Agosta and Schols finished the scoring with a goal in the second and third.
Senior Laura Hosier made 24 saves while BU's Melissa Haber made 36.
The Lakers' power play remained red-hot as MC went 3-for-6 with the man-advantage. A day after BU scored five power-play goals, the Terriers were shut out in 10 opportunities. Mercyhurst went 6-for-12 on the power play over the weekend.
Mercyhurst heads west next weekend to play #5 Minnesota-Duluth. It will mark the first time the teams have met in the regular season. The squads met in last March's NCAA Playoffs as the Bulldogs rallied for a 3-2 win in overtime at the Ice Center.
