Just days after being swept in three games by rival Gannon, the Mercyhurst women's volleyball team showed its character by defeating GLIAC foe Lake Superior State Friday night. The Lakers avenged a five game loss to Lake Superior a week ago with a 30-25, 28-30, 30-22, 30-26 win.

Despite a .175 attack percentage in game three, Mercyhurst was able to come away with the win. Lake Superior State, on the other hand, was only able to hit .116 for the match.
Kristin Peterson finished with a game-high 21 kills, while Jenna Matson added 19. Megan Fargo had 17 kills and Teri Rhodes dished out 63 assists. Cara Nelson and Matson each had 18 digs and Fargo ended with five blocks.
