March 4, 2006

Stats

Boca Raton, Fla. - Adam Nine tossed a four-hit shutout as Mercyhurst (7-4) took a 1-0 score from Felician (2-3) in the final game of the Lakers spring trip to Florida.

Nine went the distance in the ballgame, allowing just four hits and three walks. He struck out three Golden Falcons as he evened his season record at 1-1.

The two teams were deadlocked at 0-0 until the bottom of the seventh when Mercyhurst scored the only run of the ballgame. Brian Zacour reached base and was lifted for pinch runner Bryan Doberdruk. After Doberdruk stole second base, Tim Echan brought him home for what proved to be the winning run.

Tim Echan was 2-for-3 in the game with an RBI. His brother, Matt Echan, also collected a pair of hits for Mercyhurst, including a double.

Kevin Barrett took the loss for Felician. He allowed all six Laker hits and struck out one.

The Lakers are now idle until March 11 & 12, when they head to Wheeling Jesuit for a pair of doubleheaders.
