Miami Shores, Fla. -

Matt Echan came up a triple short of the cycle and John Mang kept Barry University (7-5) off-balance for seven innings as Mercyhurst (5-4) picked up a 6-3 win in Florida.

Echan, who finished 3-for-5, broke open a scoreless game with double down the right field line that scored Joe Luli in the top of the third to give Mercyhurst a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth, David Lough led off with a double.  Two batters later, he scored on a Walter Wieczorek single.  Wieczorek extended the lead to 3-0 when he scored on a Brian Zacour base hit later in the inning.

Barry cut it to 3-2 in the bottom half of the inning when an infield single by Orestes Gonzalez and a fielder's choice by Bobby Hartney plated runs.

Echan hit a solo shot in the fifth to make it 4-2, then the Lakers scored two more in the top of the seventh.  Echan singled and scored on a triple by Joe Mariano.  Mariano scored on a throwing error by the left fielder.
