Mercyhurst came up short, 8-4, to Concordia of Minnesota before blanking Wheeling (W.Va.) Jesuit, 5-0, Monday. The Lakers are now 3-5 in their Florida trip.
Concordia scored twice in the second and three in both the third and fourth to open an 8-0 lead. The Lakers closed the gap with a pair of runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings. The Lakers used a trio of pitchers with starter Kim Griffin absorbing the loss. The Golden Bears got a complete game four-hitter from Mandy Turba. Jessica McNurlen cracked a double for Mercyhurst, which collected six hits, but made four errors.

Mercyhurst got a one-hitter from Jen Feret in the second game to get a split. Feret also helped herself with her second homerun of the spring and a triple.
