#10 Mercyhurst scored 19 unanswered points from 149 through 174 and went on from there to defeat #7 Shippensburg 23-18 Friday night before 350 fans at the Athletic Center. The Lakers (13-7) won for the eighth straight time while the Red Raiders dropped to 8-6.
Trailing 6-4 after three bouts, Mercyhurst got a technical fall from Don Cummings at 149, pins from Will Tedder and Zack Schafer at 157 and 165, and a decision from Hudson Harrison at 174 to open a commanding 23-6 lead. Shippensburg won the final three bouts, but couldn't overcome the deficit.
