Mercyhurst (11-3, 1-3 GLIAC) ran into a streaking Findlay (11-2, 4-1 GLIAC) squad and suffered a 73-43 loss in GLIAC action on the road.
The 25th-ranked Oilers shot a scorching 59 percent from the floor (24-of-41) to pull away from the Lakers.
Avi Fogel was the lone Laker in double figures with 11 points. The junior, who was 5-of-12 shooting, kept his season-long streak of double digit outputs intact at 13. Richard Field grabbed a team-high six boards.
Andy Kubinski had four steals to run his streak to five straight games with at least that many thefts. Over that span, the GLIAC steals leader has 27 steals (5.4 spg).
Tyler Evans came off the bench for 5-of-7 on threes in the first half and finished the game with 17 points to lead all players. His hot shooting helped Findlay jump out to the 40-15 halftime lead.
Also scoring in double figures for Findlay were Dorian Bass with 14 points, Frank Phillips with 11 and Dustin Pfeifer with 10. Pfeiffer and Brent Schnipke eached grabbed six rebounds and Pfeifer had seven assists.
Findlay used a 15-0 run midway through the first half to stretch its lead.
Mercyhurst shot 38 percent from the field, and was just 2-of-15 from long range. The Lakers also attempted just six free throws in the game.
Findlay shot 9-of-21 from long range and got to the charity stripe 23 times, converting 16. The Oilers dominated the glass, as well, 38-to-19.
Mercyhurst won the turnover battle, forcing 20 and committing just 16.
The Oilers won their seventh in a row and 38th straight home game.
The Lakers will look to rebound on Saturday, when they finish their Ohio trip at Ashland in a 3:00 PM GLIAC contest.
