Highland Heights, Ky. - Bellarmine University scored two goals in the first 18 minutes of the game as the Knights shut out Mercyhurst 2-0 Saturday on the first day of the Northern Kentucky Tournament. The Lakers dropped to 0-1.

The Knights got on the board just three minutes in when Phil Glaser scored off a rebound. Bellarmine added all the insurance it needed when Chad Manning scored from ten yards out 18 minutes in to make it 2-0.

Freshman Daniel Mudd saw his first collegiate action between the pipes, making two saves. The Lakers were only able to muster four shots against Bellarmine, one on goal.

Mercyhurst will play the host Norsemen of Northern Kentucky Sunday.
