Lock Haven, Pa. - The Mercyhurst (0-5) women's basketball team fell in a non-conference contest at Lock Haven (3-1), 68-61 on Monday.

Mercyhurst had balanced scoring, with the top three players all scoring 11 or 12 points. Stephanie Prischak and Katlyn Petit scored 12 each, while Erin Solada had 11 and notched eight rebounds. Petit hit 3-of-6 threes and Prischak went 6-of-11 shooting. Priscila Nascimento had seven boards and four steals.

Ilia Lopez led all players with 19 points for the Bald Eagles. Ginger Williams posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She was 7-of-11 shooting. Candace Sillers posted 13 points and Elizabeth Gabrielle had seven rebounds and seven assists.

Lock Haven opened the game with a 21-4 run over the first five and a half minutes. But the Lakers clawed back and trailed by just four, 30-26, at the half. Mercyhurst answered the Bald Eagle run with a 22-9 surge to end the first 20 minutes.

Mercyhurst stayed in the game in the second half and took a 40-39 lead on a lay up by Solada with 11:24 to play. The two teams traded leads over the next minute before another Solada bucket gave Mercyhurst its largest lead, 45-42, with 10:36 left. Lopez hit a three just seven seconds later and Lock Haven never trailed again. The Bald Eagles hit all six of their free throws in the final two minutes to seal the game.

Mercyhurst held a 30-2 advantage in bench scoring, thanks in large part to Petit's season-high 12. The Lakers also outshot the Bald Eagles 43 percent (23-of-53) to 36 percent (25-of-70). Lock Haven held a 42-to-39 advantage on the glass.

Mercyhurst will look for its first win when GLIAC play opens against Hillsdale at the MAC on Thursday, December 1, at 6:00 PM.
