Erie, PA - 14th-ranked Grand Valley State swept Mercyhurst 3-0 Saturday. The scores were 30-25, 30-22, 30-22. Mercyhurst fell to 11-10 overall and 1-9 in the GLIAC while Grand Valley State improved to 16-4 overall and 8-1 in the GLIAC.

Mercyhurst was led by freshman Jenna Matson with 11 kills, 14 digs, and 11.5 points. Junior Megan Fargo contributed 9 kills and 11.5 points also.

Grand Valley State, winning its sixth game straight in the GLIAC, was led by Tracy Kirk with 15 kills and 16.5 points. Her hitting percentage was .419.

Mercyhurst will try to break the 9 game losing streak on Friday, October 14, 2005 at Saginaw Valley State at 7:00 pm.
