Salem, W. Va. - Top-seeded Salem International stopped Mercyhurst, 18-9, at the Divison II Easterns.

The Fighting Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first period and cruised to the win.

Jorge Montero scored five of Mercyhurst's nine goals and had three steals. Zach Bell and Andrew Schonhoff added two goals apiece to complete the scoring. Oscar Calderon and Schonhoff had two assists apiece.

Pat Staab and Jeff Tullis split time in goal for Mercyhurst. Tullis made six saves and Staab had four saves and two steals.

With the loss, the Lakers drop to 5-11.

Mercyhurst now awaits Slippery Rock at 7:00 PM Saturday night.
