Mercyhurst University Athletics

Shields led seven other Mercyhurst placewinners, as the Lakers finished third in the Ohio Northern University Tournament last Saturday.  The field consisted of 16 schools which made up 45 different squads. Shields registered two major decisions, then back-to-back decision wins to win his first tournament of the season. Shields, who wrestles at 157 lb, beat Charles Pingleton of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in a thrilling 4-3 decision in his final bout to complete the tournament victory.
