Strang picked up his first two wins of the season, and just the third and fourth victories of his career, as the Lakers defeated RIT 2-1 on Friday in the conference opener, and then knocked off #19 Cornell 5-4 on Saturday in Ithaca, NY. Strang was masterful on Friday, stopping a career-high 49 shots, as the Tigers peppered the senior with 50 shots on goal. Strang lost his bid for his first career shutout with 4:52 left in the third period. The 49 saves broke his career high of 39 he set in this year’s opener against Nebraska-Omaha. He wasn’t tested as often on Saturday, making 19 saves, but helped the Lakers defeat #19 Cornell 5-4.
