Kristin Lorei-Barry, affectionately known as "Coach LB," is an Erie native with a rich background in education and coaching. Born on October 12, 1990, Kristin is 33 years old and married to Briney Lorei-Barry.
Education:
Kristin graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 2009. She earned her BA in Early Childhood and Special Education from Mercyhurst University in 2013, followed by a Master's in Special Education with a concentration in Autism from the same institution in 2015.
Career History:
Kristin has dedicated over a decade to teaching in Erie's Public Schools at Pfeiffer Burleigh Elementary, where she has taught 3rd grade since 2013. Additionally, she served as an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst University from 2021 to 2023.
Coaching Experience:
Kristin's coaching career began with gymnastics at Lake Effect Gymnastics Center from 2004 to 2006. She then transitioned to sideline and competition cheerleading, coaching at Our Lady's Christian School from 2010 to 2014, Mercyhurst University from 2013 to 2015, and Villa Maria Academy from 2015 to 2019. Her coaching repertoire also includes acrobatics at Little Dance Studio from 2018 to 2023.
In 2023, Kristin returned to Mercyhurst as an assistant STUNT coach and now holds the titles of Head Cheer Coach and Assistant STUNT Coach. Her extensive experience and dedication to her roles make her an invaluable asset to Mercyhurst University's athletic programs.
