Kristian Hill ’14 joined Mercyhurst University’s athletic training staff in 2021, and was elevated to Associate Director of Athletic Training Services in the Fall 2025. Hired through Allegheny Health Network, Kristian serves as a liaison between Mercyhurst athletics and the athletic department’s medical group assisting with physician on-campus clinic coverage, sport coverage, insurance coordination, and referrals into the system.
A native to Cleveland, Ohio, Kristian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Mercyhurst University in 2014. Upon graduating from Mercyhurst, he completed his Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. in 2016. While completing his post-professional master’s degree, Kristian worked as a Graduate Assistant AT with Christopher Newport University covering the football, track and field, and women’s lacrosse programs. While at CNU, Kristian was part of an interdisciplinary task force that developed and implemented mental health protocols in accordance to NCAA recommendations.
Following the completion of his master’s degree, Kristian worked with Riverside Health System in Newport News, Va. While acting as an athletic trainer in the physician’s office, he also served as an outreach athletic trainer with the Apprentice School before serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for both Lionsbridge FC (USL-League 2) and the Peninsula Pilots (Coastal Plain League), overseeing all medical services for both clubs. Kristian also served as a clinical preceptor for Riverside Physical Therapy’s Sports Residency program. Kristian returns to Pennsylvania following a stint as an athletic trainer with SPT-Sports Physical Therapy in Bellevue, Wash. as well as Head Athletic Trainer with Barça Residency Academy, USA (FC Barcelona’s first and only full-time residential Academy in the United States).
Kristian is a certified CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association, M-1 certified in Graston Technique therapy, and also serves as a clinical preceptor for Mercyhurst’s CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training Program and the university’s Sports Medicine program.
