The Faculty Athletic Representative serves as a liaison between the institution and the athletic department. The three main purposes are to assist in providing institutional oversight of athletics, ensure academic integrity, and to focus on student-athlete welfare.
Dr. Parente’s credentials and experiences compliment these critical roles of the FAR. He is an Assistant Professor of Sport Business Management within the Walker College of Business. In addition, his doctorate in Higher Education from Penn State University has allowed for vast opportunities within student affairs and administration. Lastly, he has been on the sideline for nearly 500 college soccer games over a 21-year college coaching career. After establishing the D-III program at Penn State Altoona in 2001, he surpassed the coveted 100-win mark in his ninth season (.680 winning %).
