Rebecca Muscella

Rebecca Muscella will return for her second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Mercyhurst women’s lacrosse team. She is a graduate of Mercyhurst, having completed her degree in Forensics in early 2016.
 
Muscella stayed at Mercyhurst and assumed assistant coach duties for the 2016 season in which the Lakers finished with a 17-3 record while winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships. The season culminated with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. At the end of the school year, the Lakers finished with the highest Team GPA in the PSAC, claiming its third conference championship in one school year.
 
Muscella, a goalkeeper, played four seasons of lacrosse for the Lakers. In 2015 – her senior year – she was named to the All-PSAC Second Team and Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region Third Team. In 2014, she was an All-PSAC Third Team honoree.
 
In four years with Mercyhurst, Muscella had a 41-13 record in the cage. She appeared in 64 games and started 54 while finishing with a .439 save percentage and 9.07 goals-against average.
 
Muscella is a native of Bel Air, Md., and graduate of C. Milton Wright High School. When visiting her home state, she is a goalie coach for the Rip and Run Elite Lacrosse Club.
