ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM LOCATIONS:
Mercyhurst University athletic training utilizes two athletic training rooms. The main athletic training facility is used for most sports and is located on the ground level of the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. You can gain access to our athletic training facility by going down the stairs adjacent to the North East entrance to the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (stairs are located by the external doors under the scoreboard of the basketball court). Our facility is equipped with a physicians office, biohazard, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, ice, hot and cold whirlpools, paraffin, diathermy, Game Ready cryotherapy, and a variety of rehabilitation equipment and taping stations.

The NCAA hockey teams primarily utilitize the athletic training room located in the Mercyhurst Ice Center. This facility is equipped with biohazard, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, ice, treatment and taping tables. When treatment needs dictate it, the hockey teams also use the main athletic training facility.

EVENT COVERAGE:
Mercyhurst University Athletic Training will have a certified athletic trainer present at all home contact sporting events held in the NCAA traditional championship and postseason/playoff seasons. This includes football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, wrestling, lacrosse, softball and baseball. An athletic trainer will also usually travel with these teams to away contests, staff permitting. If a game is considered an exhibition, scrimmage or occurs in the non-traditional season, please check ahead of time for coverage, as we often do not provide athletic training room or field coverage for these events. Additionally, an athletic trainer will be present for home cross country and water polo matches, and home conference tennis matches. Club sports are not covered by the athletic training department. Football, ice hockey and some large tournaments and postseason competitions will have an EMS crew on standby for emergency transportation and injury care.
