Prior to Mercyhurst:  Competed in water polo and swim and dive and was named to an all-conference team five times, all-region twice, all-state three times, and captain three times across all sports.

Personal: Son of Kathy and Matt Cheney ... Has two siblings, Henry and Nate who also plays water polo for the Lakers.
