WARREN, Ohio — The Mercyhurst women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the YSU Spring Invitational with a total score of 656, highlighted by freshman
Lauren Iannetta's second-place individual performance at 152 over two rounds.

The team showed significant improvement, shaving 26 strokes off its first-round score of 341 to card a 315 in the second round. Iannetta led the Lakers, placing second overall, shooting 78-74. The freshman was excellent in the second round, shooting an even par 36 on the back nine with no doubles on the day. Â

Emily Ferguson contributed significantly, improving her first-round score by five strokes to finish with a total of 161, placing her eighth. Ferguson carded scores of 83-78 to finish eight in the field of 39.

Olivia Seaman also demonstrated resilience, improving her second-round score by eight strokes to finish at 170 (89-81), tying for 22nd.

Avery Paez showed notable progress, matching Seaman's improvement with a second-round score of 82, finishing at 176 in 31st place.
