Stunt Completes TNU Tournament with Split, Secures Key Wins Over MAWC Opponents

Nashville, TN – Mercyhurst Stunt had an eventful weekend at the TNU Tournament, facing off against several tough opponents.The Lakers suffered a tough 24-0 loss to California Baptist University, but bounced back with a strong 19-5 victory over University of Central Arkansas, a MAWC opponent. They then faced Hope International University, falling 23-1, before closing out the tournament with a hard-fought 16-14 win over Missouri State, another MAWC opponent. 

Game 1: 

The tournament began on a tough note for the Lakers, as they faced California Baptist University. Mercyhurst struggled against the strong unit, falling to the Lancers 24-0. The Lakers were unable to get any traction, despite strong efforts, as California Baptist dominated the game from start to finish.

Game 2: 

In the second game of the weekend, Mercyhurst turned the tide, facing the University of Central Arkansas. The Lakers found their rhythm, securing a dominant 19-5 victory. Mercyhurst showed resilience after the tough loss the day before, controlling the tempo and outpacing their opponent throughout the match.

Game 3: 

The third game saw Mercyhurst face Hope International University, and the Lakers once again struggled to find their spark. Despite some strong plays, Mercyhurst fell 23-1, unable to generate consistent scoring opportunities as Hope International took control early and never looked back.

Game 4: 

The final game of the weekend saw Mercyhurst pull off a thrilling victory over Missouri State. After a tough start to the tournament, the Lakers rallied with a 16-14 win, led by a strong team effort. The offense came alive in this close contest, and Mercyhurst hung on for the hard-fought win, closing out the tournament on a high note.

Chloe Johnson, Mikayla McClain, Jayna Phillips, Maddie Flannery, and Grace Gregoire all contributed significantly over the weekend, with each player making key impacts.
