Lakers Split this Week

Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst Men's AAU Hockey team split their series this past week, securing a 5-3 victory over Gannon before falling to Alfred St. later in the week. The Lakers put forth a strong effort but couldn't find a way to pull out a win against Alfred St.

How It Happened:

Against Gannon, the Lakers got off to a strong start with Marcus Shelly scoring the opening goal, followed by Nicholas Viselli's second goal. Jacob Rios had a standout performance, tallying 1 goal and 2 assists, while Jake Moran and Thomas Vanderlip also added to the score sheet. Rios and Vanderlip contributed further with a goal and assist each.

In the game against Alfred St., the Lakers couldn't generate much offense, and Andrew Griffin was the only player to score in the 6-1 loss.

Notable Performances:

Marcus Shelly scored the first goal against Gannon.

Nicholas Viselli netted the second goal against Gannon.

Jacob Rios had 1 goal and 2 assists against Gannon.

Jake Moran and Thomas Vanderlip each scored a goal against Gannon.

Andrew Griffin was the lone goal scorer for Mercyhurst in the loss to Alfred St.
