ERIE, Pa. -- The eighth-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team defeated 10th-ranked Lock Haven, 11-6, to secure a share of first place in the final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference standings. The win also granted the Lakers' right to the top seed in the PSAC Tournament.
Janelle Williams finished with three goals and four draw controls to lead the Mercyhurst effort. Leading point-getter
Kristin Anderson added two goals and two two assists while
Emily Gebhardt and
Carly Zimmerman chipped in with one goal and one assist each.
Single goals were tallied by Kyle Keefe,
Olivia Keirn,
Morgan Parker and
Grace Lawson.
Taylor Santiago added an assist.
Emily Koestler led the Lakers in groundballs with five while Anderson, Santiago and
Kristina Roberti picked up four each.

Gabby Gravino ended with four saves.
The Lakers (15-2, 11-1) opened the contest with a 3-0 run and never trailed. The visiting Bald Eagles (13-4, 8-4) pulled within two goals at 4-2, but Mercyhurst responded with a 6-1 stretch.
Alex O'Herrick and Rachel Engler had three and two goals apiece for LHU. Goalie Hannah Houde had 12 saves.
The Lakers outshot the Eagles, 32-14, and held a 14-5 edge in draw controls.
Mercyhurst tied West Chester (16-1, 11-1) atop the PSAC standings, but a head-to-head win for the Lakers gives them the top-seed in PSACs.
The PSAC Tournament will begin with two first-round matchups on Apr 30 (hosted by three- and four-seeds) and finish with the May 6 semifinals and May 8 finals at Mercyhurst.
