Men's Water Polo Prepares for Four CWPA Games This Weekend

The Lakers are ranked sixth in the CWPA weekly poll.
ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team will play four Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) games this weekend. On Saturday, October 12, at Penn State Behrend, the Lakers take on Notre Dame College at noon and then Behrend at 7 p.m. The next day, at Washington and Jefferson, Mercyhurst faces Salem International at 1:30 p.m. and W&J and 5 p.m.
 
The Lakers have a 7-3 overall record and a 4-0 CWPA mark. After an idle weekend, they moved to sixth in the new CWPA poll. Garret Schoeman leads the team with 36 points, while Brett Luehmann is next with 28. Matt Cote has made 74 saves in goal.
 
Notre Dame College is 6-7 in 2013, including a 2-3 trip to California last weekend.
 
Penn State Behrend is 0-13 this year, including four losses at the Gary Troyer Convergence in California last weekend.
 
Salem International has a 2-10 mark this season, having taken last weekend off. Michal Izdinsky has 64 goals in 12 games.
 
Washington and Jefferson has a 9-10 record. It went 1-4 at the Gary Troyer Convergence, beating Occidental. Mike Magdic leads the team with 27 goals, while Kevin Dunigan has 26 scores in 2013.
