Vitale, a freshman midfielder, scooped up a game-high, and a career-high, nine ground balls in a 10-3 home victory over Walsh University Saturday, April 4. The rookie took all 17 face-offs for the Lakers, winning 15 of them for a .882 winning percentage. Vitale’s play on Saturday earned him the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Men's Lacrosse Freshman of the Week honors. The Fairfield, Connecticut native left Saturday’s game with .547 face-off winning percentage (47-of-56) and moved into second with 19 ground balls this season.
