August Mizia became the first wrestler in school history to reach the finals at the PSAC Championships, doing so on Saturday in the 174-pound bracket. After receiving a bye in the first round, Mizia defeated Pitt-Johnstown's Nikos Garofola by major decision, 10-1, in the quarterfinals. The redshirt sophomore then knocked off Edinboro's Zachary Towers 6-3 in the semifinals to advance to the championship bout - the first grappler in school history to reach the finals at the PSACs. Mizia's run at the title fell short when he was pinned at 2:19 by top-seeded Mike Dessino of Bloomsburg. Mercyhurst, as a team, finished fifth - tied for the best result in program history at the event.
