Lundgren was an integral part in Mercyhurst upsetting two top-ten teams in the country in the span of three days this week. Lundgren nearly put the match out of reach on Thursday with a 9-3 upset over the third-ranked wrestler in the region - Derrick Williams of West Liberty. His 4-3 decision win over a former NCAA qualifier, Giovanni Ortiz of Kutztown, did clinch the win for the Lakers on Saturday. Mercyhurst defeated #9 West Liberty 20-15 and then defeated #7 Kutztown 23-16 to improve to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC this season. Lundgren, himself, improved to 12-7 in 2012-13.
