HAVERHILL, Mass. - Freshman forward Daniel Bahntge earned his first-ever Atlantic Hockey Association weekly award on Monday afternoon after his performance against Sacred Heart this past weekend. Bahntge garnered the conference's Rookie of the Week honors.

Earlier this season, Bahntge was named November's Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month despite never taking home a weekly award until Monday.

A native of Westlake, Ohio, Bahntge had the biggest weekend of his young career, finishing with four goals and two assists, helping the Lakers to a weekend sweep of Sacred Heart and moving Mercyhurst into sole possession of first place in the standings. He had a career-high four points in Friday's 9-1 victory, including his first collegiate hat trick. All three of his goals came in a 7:56 span in the second period, including two during a five-minute power play. He added an assist in the Lakers' only goal of the first period on Friday.
