Mercyhurst women's tennis player Saioa Gomez de Segura was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

Gomez de Segura, a senior, is ranked fourth in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the Atlantic Region. The senior was ITA Atlantic Region singles champ, PSAC singles champ and PSAC doubles champ in the fall.

Gomez de Segura, who placed fifth in the NAIA/ITA Oracle Cup, has 25-2 record this year, including a current 11-match win streak, in singles play. She is 19-3 in doubles play this year, including a current 15-match win streak. Mercyhurst is 12-0 as a team.
