Martinez, a freshman, scored the game-winning goal with 25 seconds remaining to defeat Slippery Rock 2-1 on Thursday afternoon. It was the first time since 2009 that the men's soccer team defeated Slippery Rock and was just the second time since defeating The Rock 5-0 in 2003 (1-4-2). Martinez had an assist on the Lakers third goal on Sunday in the 3-0 win over Ashland. The freshman is second on the team with four goals and 11 points.
