Women's Water Polo Ranked 10th in CWPA Poll

BRIDGEPORT, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team is ranked 10th in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Week 1 poll. The Lakers begin their season February 11 at the Princeton Invitational.
 
Hurst is led by goalie Hope Rozelle and leading scorers Lisett Calderon and Laura Perez. It won 16 games in 2011. Rozelle played in all 26 matches, making 252 saves and allowing 8.3 goals per game. Calderon totaled 38 goals and 31 assists, while Perez had 25 goals and 28 assists.
 
In the CWPA poll, Indiana is tabbed first, with Hartwick second. Princeton, Michigan, and Maryland round out the top five. Harvard follows at sixth. Bucknell, Brown, and George Washington are 7-8-9.
 
Coach Curtis Robinette's squad heads to Princeton for three games, beginning with a contest against Villanova February 11.
